WESTERN HORSEMAN MAGAZINE
PUBLISHED AL NAPOLETANO'S FIRST ILLUSTRATION SALE IN 1943 AND CONTINUES TO USE HIS WORK TODAY
Al is most recognized for his continuous work in "Western PubIications" for over 50 years.
Included in this group are the following magazines:
TRUE WEST
FRONTIER TIMES
OLD WEST
GOLD
RELICS
HORSE TALES
BADMEN
WANDERLUST
Joe Small, Editor, bought his first Napoletano illustration in 1954 for TRUE WEST magazine. In the next 25 years, 155 issues of TRUE WEST, 121 issues of FRONTIER TIMES, and 61 issues of OLD WEST contained one or more of Al's illustrations.
There was never a hint of monotony because of Al's many styles. Opaque, ink-wash, pen & ink, scratch-board or oil, no assignment baffles him. Every illustration is researched and will be authentic to the time and era.

The August 1990 issue of THE LARIAT, features "Saddles of the American West" by Al Napoletano is now a valued collector item by saddle buffs.
In his early career days, Al drew for "JASOOMlAN" a magazine published by Edgar Rice Burroughs of Tarzan fame.
Al is a native westerner, lover of horses and rodeo, and many of his drawings come from memory. Others represent many hours of research; reading over old accounts until the words can be interpreted into an illustration.
